A security guard has been charged for allegedly threatening to kill a man with a homemade gun. He is 27-year-old Juan Duran Sr. and the former Special Constable has been charged with aggravated assault and keeping firearm and ammunition without a license.

The complaint against him was made by Francisco Matute. Matute told police that at 2 on Sunday morning he arrived at the gate of his home on Boots crescent when he saw a man with a black object in his hand. Matute looked at the man and that's when he said the man threatened to 'bust his face.'

Matute says he got frightened and hightailed it out of there on his bike but the man was in pursuit. The aggressor eventually caught up to Matute and that's when Matute says the man pointed the gun in his face and threatened to shoot him.

Matute somehow managed to escape and headed back home. He ran into his house and observed the same assailant scouring the yard. He called police and that's when they arrested Duran who was caught in the yard. He was denied bail in Magistrate's Court this morning and remanded to the Hattieville Prison until May 9th.
