BTL boss Dean Boyce's freedom is in the hands of Supreme Court Justice John Muria.
As we've been reporting, Christine Perriot wants Boyce jailed for contempt of court because he allegedly failed to comply with Muria's order to temporarily reinstate Perriot while she challenges her termination from BTL.
Last week Perriot's attorney Lois Young argued that BTL and, by extension, its boss Dean Boyce is in contempt of court because he willfully ignored the court's order.
This morning in court it was Boyce's attorney Andrew Marshalleck who replied. He laid out four procedural objections to Perriot's application. Marshalleck basically argued that the company has already filled Perriot's post and if she is rehired, they would have to fire her replacement. Marshalleck also noted that BTL has followed procedure by sending Perriot on leave while recognizing her entitlement to salary and benefits. Marshalleck also made it a point that the notice wasn't properly served on Dean Boyce.
Before court was adjourned, Young replied pointing out that, by the ruling of the courts, Keith Arnold is not a director on the BTL board and therefore his affidavit should be struck out.
Justice Muria has reserved judgment.
