His conviction for rape stands but today the Court of Appeals reduced 44-year-old Edward Negron's sentence. In October of 2006 Negron was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl a year earlier. The trial judge sentenced Negron to 18 years in prison.

Today Negron, who had no attorney, appealed both his conviction and jail sentence. The Court of Appeal denied his appeal of the conviction. The judges did however reduce his sentence from 18 to 15 years.
