There was a shooting this evening on George Street. Details are not confirmed at this time but according to reports, some time just after 6:00 pm two young men showed up at a Chinese store on George Street and ordered a liter of brandy. But when he went to serve them, they opened fire; 7 shots were reportedly fired. Residents say both the shopkeeper and one of his children were seriously injured.
Residents say it's part of escalating violence in the city following a weekend murder that has police bracing for retaliations after an execution style killing. But police are urging rival gangs to hold it down because of the immediate arrest of two men accused of gunning down a George Street soldier.
