A 47-year-old woman on a bicycle was killed in an unusual traffic mishap this morning. Analee Flores was riding her bike near the central market in Dangriga Town and was reportedly trying to overtake a six-wheeled pickup truck.
But traffic was thick and she had to slip between the pickup and a parked vehicle. She didn't quite make it, and when she got snagged on the parked vehicle, she lost her balance and fell. That's when her head hit the pickup truck's rear bumper. She received major head injury and by the time police got her to the Southern Regional Hospital, she was dead.
Police are questioning the driver of the truck, 36-year-old Alex Cordova but haven't yet decided if they will bring charges.
