There was a major head on collision on the Northern Highway this morning. It happened just outside of Orange Walk near Trial Farm Village where 27-year-old Silvana Moreno was southbound in her pickup truck, heading into Orange Walk Town. She had her three children, boys aged 6, 8 and 10 with her. Her pickup truck was obliterated when she veered into the path of an oncoming dodge pickup truck.
That was driven by 36 year old Dangriga businessman Eddy Usher who was with his three year old daughter. Silvana was flung from the pickup, and died on the side of the road. Her 8-year-old son, Jaime was found 6 feet away, also dead.
Her other two sons, 10 year old Cresencio and 6 year old Benjamin survived, but barely. Both are in critical condition, and 6-year-old Benjamin has been transferred to the KHMH. He received major injuries to his legs.
Eddy Usher's 3-year-old daughter Melissa was cut on the head. Two men who were in his truck received only minor injury.
