Her son Kurlin Felix was murdered a week ago but Janet Felix says she's been unable to mourn in peace because she is being constantly harassed by burglars or some kind of urban terrorist. It is a story that's almost too bizarre to be true but it is. Felix says that every night someone bangs on her door, rattles at her window, or clambers on her roof, in what she believes is an attempt to gain entry to her home. It's been going on fro a week and it's driving this already grieving mother crazy. She spoke to us today.

Janet Felix, Bothered by Burglars
"I feel like it is me they want to kill. I feel like its me."

Janet Felix believes someone wants to kill her because since the murder of her son Kurlin a week ago -someone has been trying to break into her home on Sanker Street. That is, breaking into her house while she is inside.

Janet Felix,
"From last week Monday night we started to get harassment, harassment in my house and I can't understand it because the person is trying to come into my house and everybody is up, all lights are on, and the person still insists on coming in. So I had to call the police. The police came, I got a quick response and they came and they looked around the house and they went. Before they went they said to if anything else happens, I must call them. After they left the people still came back."

Keith Swift,
When you say they are trying to get into your house what are they doing?

Janet Felix,
"They are trying to wrench open the windows."

Keith Swift,
And you're inside the house.

Janet Felix,
"Yes, we are inside the house and they could hear us inside. I was on the phone calling the police and the person was still wrenching the window."

Felix says it happened every night last week and took a serious turn last night when the intruders tried into break into her house through the roof. We couldn't go on the roof but if you look closely - you can see where the zinc has been lifted.

Janet Felix,
"Last night it was worst. I was awaken by the noise, by the wrenching of the windows and after that they got on the house top, the dog was barking a lot, they got on the house top, it seemed like they had crowbar and cutters, and they tried to get in from through the roof. I can't stand this."

And now all Janet Felix wants: is to be left alone.

Janet Felix,
"It makes you miserable and it makes the children wake up late to go to school. It makes everybody miserable because it makes you not able to sleep. It makes you can't sleep and you don't know who is doing it but you know people are there, you know people are outside."

And its what she doesn't know that's keeping this mother up at night.

Felix's sons, Emory and Maurice Felix will be tried in this session of the Supreme Court for the murder of Mitchum Heredia. Janet Felix will be an alibi witness for her sons in the trial.
