On duty police officers came under hostile fire from the criminal elements again last night and tonight there is a manhunt on for the shooter. He has been identified as Brandon Taylor. His bullets hit no one but they did damage a police mobile. It occurred around 10 pm in the area of King Street and West Canal. Police report that Taylor tracked down a neighbor he had a beef with to an area on King Street where Playboy Club used to be.

Taylor pulled out a firearm and allegedly opened fire on his neighbor. Four shots were fired but no one was hurt. A police mobile arrived as Taylor was fleeing from the scene on East Canal on a bicycle. When he saw the cops, Taylor turned the gun on them. A firefight followed and multiple shots were exchanged. One of the shots hit the police mobile which then stopped and that’s when Taylor escaped.

And during that shootout, two of the bullets landed in the living room of Gloria McKay on East Canal. McKay told us she was taking bath when she heard the shots.

Gloria McKay,
“Last night I was in the bathroom bathing and when I listened I heard gunshots and they hollered for me and told me about gunshots. I heard the gunshots and when I came out, I saw a crowd of people out there by the King Street bridge with three police vehicles. I don’t know what else took place.”

Keith Swift,
You showed me three holes inside your house.

Gloria McKay,
“Yes and inside the house three bullet holes inside the house and three of my sons were inside and a baby in the chair sleeping.”

Keith Swift,
Someone could have gotten hurt.

Gloria McKay,
“Someone yes, someone because it is right by the TV. I don’t know nothing else and all of them woke up and ran outside. No one got hurt.”

Keith Swift,
But you were frightened.

Gloria McKay,
“Frightened, no must.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Brandon Taylor is asked to contact the police.
