He’s is jail awaiting trial for the murder of Jerrie Jones but today 24 year old Lloyd Faber Jr. was convicted of robbery. He was found guilty of robbing Yvette Vernon at gunpoint on Newtown Barracks.
Vernon says that at 2 am on March 12th she was crossing the street from the Princess Hotel over to the Putt Putt bar when a man – whom she recognized as Lloyd Faber Jr. - put a gun to her head and ordered her to hand over everything she had. She threw her purse on the ground and ran. Faber picked it up and fled. He was picked up by police near Putt Putt Bar.
Police recovered Vernon’s purse which had in $7 cash and her IDs. Faber was silent in court but he did call Brian “Yellowman” Audinett as an alibi witness. Yellowman told Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie that on the night of the robbery, he was drinking with Faber at Putt Putt Bar from 3 in the afternoon and they were there together until midnight.
Magistrate McKenzie wasn’t convinced and convicted faber and sentenced him to 5 years in jail. Jerrie Jones was killed on August 30th as he sat in Mike’s Club on Regent Street West.
