This morning, a jury of 9 men and 3 women were selected to hear the case. 29-year-old Louie Anthony Gentle, 29, who took Ganzie as his stage name, was charged in January with the murder of his children's mother, 28-year-old Keisha Sutherland, a mother of 4.
On January 3, Sutherland's body was found lying on a carpet in her living room with multiple stab wounds to the body. Police say she was stabbed 20 times. Ganzie is known as a devout Bobo Shanti and a reggae entertainer. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy DPP Cheryl Lynn Branker-Taitt who plans to call 7 witnesses. Ganzie is being represented by attorney Darrel Bradley.
