From the Belmopan police holding cell to Belize Central Prison, that is where thirty five year Guatemalan laborer Alejandro Hernandez Damian went today after he was formally arraigned in magistrate’s court for murder. Damian, a resident of St. Margaret’s Village in the Cayo District is the person authorities believe killed area resident twenty seven year old Clementine Enriquez.
Enriquez was found in a pool of blood outside Jacklyn’s Bar situated near the community’s football field on Monday morning. Police believe that Enriquez who was no stranger to fights got into a misunderstanding that led to the homicide. According to authorities Enriquez had been involved in altercations with a number of individuals that prior to his death only recently had checked himself out of the hospital where he was recovering from a chop wound to the head. This time police believe Enriquez was killed as an act of revenge.
