On Christmas Eve, it seems that most everyone is cutting about doing their shopping and making last minute deals. And that's just what Charles Stamp Sr. and his sons were doing on East Collet Canal this morning. The older man had come down from his home in the country to visit a barbershop where he was trying to close the deal on a horse sale. That's when police rolled up and pulled out their guns. He told us what happened next.

Charles Stamp Sr.,
"The policemen just pulled up in a black vehicle and they jumped out, rushed to us, put the guns in my chest, told me to get back, pushed me with the gun butt in my chest against the fence. I asked what this was for and they couldn't explain to me. I told them I didn't anything, we were just shopping. I asked what will they do. They shoved my son with the gun too and they got into the vehicle and told us to let's go and get into the vehicle, open the back. So when we were going to the vehicle the man put me back. He told me to stay back old boy and they took my three sons."

Charles Stamp Jr.,
"It was a surprise to me because I have never gotten harassed by police every yet in my life. I mean come on, if they are going to rub you down, they could just tell you to put your hand against the wall. They shouldn't push you against the wall. They searched me, they didn't find anything. They pushed us in the vehicles we went and we were explaining to them why were they taking us. We didn't do anything for them to take us. This was a surprise to me on Christmas Eve. This has never happened to me in my life before.

I mean the officers saw us before. They rolled up their glass and when they rolled up their glass, that is when they stopped and they just jumped out, cocked the gun, put in my face, and pushed me against the while. This was big street, exactly right side of the barbershop, a 9 millimeter. They looked at my brother and told him that he is a real murderer. When they robbed him they found ten dollars in his pocket. I mean this is in front of a crowd, Jules. It is really disrespectful."

Stamp's sons were only detained for a few minutes. They have already filed a complaint with the Internal Affairs Department which is investigating.
