Fifty year old Michael White is a well known burglar with multiple convictions. And you might think that with so many convictions he would have gained some finesse or stealth in the art of housebreaking. But, that’s apparently not the case; yesterday White was caught red handed inside a house on Eve Street. He made such a raucous around six thirty that morning that it alerted homeowner, 24 year old James Bradley, Junior.
According to Bradley, a sales representative, he was on the second flat getting ready for work when he heard noises coming from below. Bradley went downstairs where he found the older man not only inside the lower flat of his two storey building, but the thief was busy ripping away the electrical wires from his florescent lights. Bradley quickly jumped into action, nabbed his burglar and called the police. When authorities arrived at the residence White actually told them that he lived at the house. Hardly plausible and further checks of the building revealed that White gained entry by damaging a lock on the door.
This morning White was taken to Magistrate’s Court and then transferred to Hattieville Prison but this time White would not walk away free. It seems the career criminal has problems paying his bills and owes the court a total of two thousand five hundred and fifty five dollars. Because White could not pay his debts he was sentenced to two years and one month in jail and also remanded for his most recent crime.
White who also has previous convictions of burglary, possession of pipe and willful trespass is scheduled to reappear in court on February nineteenth.
