There were two armed robberies this afternoon in Belize City. The first occurred just after 2:00 p.m. when a gunman robbed Castillo’s Meat Shop on Water Lane. Police were unable to provide details. The second occurred just half an hour later at about 2:40 p.m. at Gas Tomza at mile four and a half on the Northern Highway. Manager Manuel Martin confirmed that two gunmen with shirts over the heads entered through the back door and ordered the three people inside the office to lie on the ground. They then raided the cash drawer and left on bicycles. Martin said that after what happened today, he has upgraded his security arrangements.
