A week ago Cynthia Genaro made a plea for justice here on 7NEWS. Her father Oswald Young was killed a year ago in a traffic accident. The investigation had stalled and Cynthia and her son flew to Belize to jump-start it. Well following our story, the investigation got more than a jump start – there has been an arrest. Yesterday police charged 31 year old David Vasquez for manslaughter by negligence; causing death by careless conduct, drove motor vehicle without due care and attention; drove motor vehicle without third party risk insurance, used an unlicensed motor vehicle.

On February 8th of 2007, Vasquez was driving his car towards Ladyville when between miles eight and nine on the Northern Highway he collided into a Mazda pickup driven by thirty-two year old Gayland Gillett. The arrest is interesting because Vasquez was young’s son in law. In court he was offered and met bail of $5,000.

Cynthia Genaro is also applying pressure for police to make an arrest for the death of her nephew. He was killed in a traffic accident late last year.
