They shamed the Police Department and mocked lady justice when they couldn't identify Ben Bou Nahra on the witness stand and now three police officers could be dismissed from the Police Department because of that case of selective amnesia. The Police Tribunal which examined their actions concluded today and it found Clement Cacho, Darius Ramos and Anthony Polonio guilty of prejudice to good order and discipline. A recommendation to dismiss all three will now be taken to the Public Service Commission. And two of the officers, Ramos and Polonio still face criminal charges of perjury and the DPP may choose to bring a similar charge against Cacho.
In made headlines and caused national outrage in October of last year when the prosecution's case against Ben Bou Nahra collapsed because, inexplicably, the officers could not identify him. Bou Nahra had been charged for the manslaughter of Shawn Copious.
