On Sunday - two men were murdered with guns and last night two men were chopped with machetes. But they lived to tell their story to Jacqueline Godwin - and what a tangled tale of brotherly love, amorous violence and reckless endangerment it is.

"...And I got two babies, check, the youngest little girl I was in bed with when this commotion start. But so far I am straight though."
This bloodstained undershirt tells you how viciously twenty five-year-old Dwight Palacio was attacked. The father of two young children was sleeping with his girlfriend and kids when he was suddenly awakened by loud noises coming from outside of their residence. Dwight's eldest sibling Patrick Palacio, the well-known Belize City rap artist known as Super P. was being attacked by another man identified as Kevin Parks. Dwight says the only reason why he left the safety of his family is because he feared for his brother's life.
Dwight Palacio,
"I see young boy choke up my brother and I told him boy easy, you let go my brother you know. And he did not want to let go my brother and then I grabbed him in his throat here and so he let go my brother and so I start to bang him up in his face and thing. And he got to release himself and my brother
picked up the machete off the floor and then when he see my brother pick up the machete off the floor he rushed into me and juk me."
The stab to Dwight's upper left side of the chest caused a serious wound. Patrick was also struck right side of his back and left buttocks.
Dwight Palacio,
"I feel the depression in my lungs and then my blood started to spray, yeah."
Jacqueline Godwin,
Do you know what you were stabbed with?
Dwight Palacio,
"I see a small object. I noh even see it good but I know it was a small object because he had his hand so and he just gone so well I will just juk you now too then and he just gone so."
But why would anyone want to kill the Palacio brothers? The information suggests it is the result of jealousy. According to Patrick Palacio he is only a friend to Kevin Parks' former girlfriend who was at his residence around eleven twenty on Monday night when Parks came looking for the woman and their two children.

"Now I look upon she standing by my kitchen door and I said to her
get the two children and give this man and mek this man take this charade from around here. Upon saying that I turned my back on him. This is when I saw that he had something in his left hand so when I turned my back he grabbed me with his left arm around my neck."

"He was going to take a sharp object right and stuck it into my brother in law right and when he did that, my boy just come and grabbed him here until he let go. From the day I was at work and he was telling me that he was going to burn down all of the houses at the back of my house."
Dwight Palacio,
"(It is) All over a young lady and that is how I see it and she is not even my lady check but it is my brother and blood is thicker than water and I had to protect my brother."
Kevin Parks made his escape by running back through the alley but tonight the police have his name and say he is being sought.
Jacqueline Godwin,
What is it you would want to see happen to this individual?
Dwight Palacio,
"Happen to him? I noh know what happen to him but I just know he has to hide, that's all, he has to hide cause I get better. I am not thinking about revenge but I no know what I am capable of too, check."
While Patrick Palacio was released shortly after being tended at KHMH, Dwight Palacio is expected to remain hospitalized for at least three more days. Jacqueline Godwin for 7NEWS.
Police have made no arrests - but say that they do have a name.
