24 year old Derrol Adolphus is expecting a newborn baby but he was busted with drugs and ammunition yesterday. This morning he pleaded guilty to possession of the 7 live rounds of.38 ammunitions – and thought he would have been released in time to witness the birth of his child. But he wasn’t – which is why he cried. But the tears didn’t save him.

After his guilty plea to the ammunition charge, Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie fined him $10,000, $2,000 of which he has to pay on May 20th. The police prosecutor objected to bail because they are still searching for the gun. So he was denied bail and remanded to prison. Police allege that yesterday they searched Adolphus’ home on Raccoon Street Extension and found the ammunition along with 194.3 grams of cannabis in one bag and another 2,273.5 grams in another.

But before heading to prison - Adolphus was back in court to answer a charge of burglary. A 21-year-old legal secretary told police that while at work someone broke into her home and stole a desktop computer, digital camera, and jewelry totaling $11,000. Police say they have recovered some of the stolen jewelry which Derrol Adolphus pawned. To that he pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.
