Police have made no arrests for yesterday’s broad daylight shooting of a bus conductor. As we reported, at about 2:00 yesterday afternoon, Andy Lopez was sitting in a parked Tillett’s bus along with another conductor and a driver having lunch. Three men rode up, one of them pulled a gun and demanded their money. As Lopez was releasing his waist-belt with the money, the robber got impatient, shot him in the midsection and ran off without the money. He is hospitalized in a stable condition. They got about $150 from the other conductor.
Police recovered one expended nine millimeter shell from the scene. Investigators have no suspects and hope that Lopez can assist them in providing a description of the shooter.
