A family trip ended in tragedy on the Western Highway on Sunday morning. Sometime after 8:00 in the morning, the Aldana family were travelling from Burrell Boom to their home in Camalote Village in a Toyota Corolla. Inside the car were driver Adean Aldana, her son Jabir Aldana and passenger Kenroy Peyrefitte. Between miles twenty seven and twenty eight they collided head on into a Toyota Prado which travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Prado, American Christopher Hysinger was trying to avoid a bus that had stopped in front of him – and went into the lane of oncoming traffic. According to Jabir Aldana while he and his mother were helped out of the wreck, his friend Peyrefiite who had sustained serious body injuries was trapped and died at the scene.
Jabir Aldana, Passenger in Wrecked Vehicle
“A white tourist bus was ahead of the blue Prado, the blue Prado was at the back of the bus. When the Prado hauled out the next guy held the steering wheel and told my mom to watch out. And when he told her to watch out, same time the vehicle knocked into the next vehicle. The next Prado was overtaking and he caught the man on his passenger side.”
