Details are sketchy but we understand that late this afternoon Ladyville Police shot a suspect as he tried to escape from their custody. Sources tell 7NEWS that the police had responded to a call of a possible burglary in progress.
Information is that when the cops arrived on the scene the suspect was still inside the building. They went into to get the man but sources tell 7NEWS that as the cops and the suspect reached outside of the building the man managed to get away from the police. However as the suspect ran away one of the police officers fired a shot that caught him in the foot.
That suspect was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is being treated for his wound. 7NEWS will have more on this story in tomorrow’s newscast.
