Belize City police are looking for one Nelson Diaz after he reportedly went on a rampage and stabbed two of his in-laws multiple times. Nineteen year old Dennis Mai told police that around eight on Monday night his brother in law Nelson Diaz entered his family’s house and started to argue with his mother Cristina Lin. That is when Mai says his father John Hoare told Diaz to get out but instead of leaving the residence a fight started.
During the altercation Diaz stabbed Hoare two times in the left side of the head and upper left arm. When Mai jumped in to protect his dad he too was stabbed with an ice pick eight times to the arm, chest, stomach, shoulder and lower back. Diaz then ran out of the yard jumped into a taxi with license plate number D5486 driven at the time by his brother Danny Diaz and made good his escape.
Doctors have certified the injuries as wounding and both father and son were treated and discharged from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Police have yet to find Nelson and Danny Diaz.
