A four month old baby is dead after she was thrown from a vehicle. The tragedy unfolded around four forty five on Tuesday evening. Gloria Hall a fifty four year old business woman from Corozal Town was driving her Dodge van from the Customs checkpoint at the Santa Elena Border to the Northern Highway. Inside the van at the time were four month old Shamar Hall and her mother nineteen year old Michelle Hall, Anabel and Maritza Vivas.
Police investigations reveal that as the van reach the junction of the road hall failed to stop that caused a tow truck pulling a forty foot container to collide into the left portion of the family vehicle. Baby Hall received severe head and body injuries and died on arrival at the Corozal Hospital. The child’s mother Michelle sustained injuries to her left foot and hand while the driver received injuries to her chest and head. The Vivas’s sustained injuries to their feet and hip. Gloria Hall remains admitted at the Northern Regional Hospital.
According to police a notice of intended prosecution has been served to the truck’s driver twenty three year old Marcelo Villamil of Trial Farm Village in the Orange Walk District.
