Orlando Wade Charged for Sandhill Murder

Police have the man who they say killed 43 year old Sandhill resident Dorita Pitterson. He is Orlando Wade a resident of Sandhill. He was detained this morning, and will be taken to court and arraigned for the murder tomorrow morning.

A post mortem has confirmed that he sexually assaulted his victim and strangled her to death. The abrasions on her face that police referred to are believed to have resulted from her struggling to get away. The CIB office says the community played a critical role in providing the information which led to the arrest.

Pitterson did have grown children but lived alone. She had been receiving psychiatric care for much of her life and was well liked in the village community.
