32 year old Hilda Locario is out on bail after she was charged for setting her 23 year old ex-boyfriend’s house on fire. Her ex-boyfriend is Herbert Bodden and he told police that at that 2 this morning - he was awakened by the sound of Locario – who he claims was calling his name and threatening to burn down his house on Tibruce Street. He skipped across to his mother’s house and that’s when he says he saw his backdoor on fire. He rushed over and extinguished the blaze but not before it damaged his stereo system, part of a boat engine, and other items – in addition to the door itself.
Bodden tallied the damage at close to two thousand dollars. Locario was charged in court for arson and released on bail of $3,000 which was posted just in time to avoid a night at the Hattieville Prison. No plea was taken in court because it is an indictable offence to be tried at the Supreme Court. The maximum sentence for arson is life in prison.
