Horrace Bryce is the performer and Kendoyll Simpson is his producer/engineer and together they are Bryce Simpson. We first introduced you to the duo in December when we listened to their first CD of Caribbean Christmas music. Well Byrce Simpson is back with a new album but that isn’t the news tonight. The news is that on Sunday Byrce Simpson will perform in front of a crowd of 40,000 people at the Rose Bowl in California – and a TV and radio audience of possibly millions. The duo was invited to participate in the “I-Care” Foundation’s “5k walk for foster care” – a charity walk and concert to raise funds for foster children. They leave on Thursday and stopped by our studios yesterday to tell us the good news.

Kendoyll Simpson, Byrce Simpson
“Excited but nervous because we have never performed in front of 40,000 people before and we just hope for the best.”

“Well it is my first time internationally performing so I guess I am excited as can be right now. As you notice I am smiling so I think it is a big big break for me knwing I am from Belize, going out there to represent my country and to let them know what it is like here in Belize and how we do music.”

Kendoyll Simpson,
“We’ll be performing track two and track four. Track two is ‘cling to hope’ and track four is ‘dance on.’ Cling to hope is a reggae song, it basically tells people to hold on top hope, don’t give up in life, one day you will make it and ‘dance on’ is just basically a dance song.”

Charles McLean, Executive Producer
“I see this as a major opportunity for them, Byrce Simpson – that’s the name we’re trying to get out there. It is a major thing for them. I think it is a golden opportunity. Even though it is not like a talent showcase but there will be ABC coverage also Fox Television, there will be NBC and there will be 40,000 people and there will be a lot of celebrities in the crowd. They will be performing among well known celebrities and I think this is a major step for them forward.”

Kendoyll Simpson,
“I believe this is a big break for Belize as well. We know Andy Palacio made it internationally but his life ended quickly so we hope to continue what he had done and we want to put Belize on the map, so to speak, again.”

The charity concert is July 26th and portions of it should be aired on radio as well as TV stations in the area. The duo returns next week and their new album – “Good to Me” is now available widely. You can find out more at http://www.Myspace.com/brycesimpsonbze.
