A man is probably thankful to be alive after he was shot in his face. 32 year old Nuri Thomas told police that on Saturday night around 6 he was walking on Central American Boulevard when a gunman approached from Banak Street and shot him. Several shots were fired and Thomas was hit in the left side of his face. The bullet exited between his right ear.
He was also shot in the arm. He is in the KHMH recovering.

Police are also investigating the shooting of 38 year old Phillip Lightburn. He says that around 9:30 on Saturday he was sitting at the corner of Fuller’s Alley and Cemetery Road when a man fired three shots at him. Lightburn was injured to his foot and abdomen. On September 30, 2007, Jerry Smart was killed by a gunshot as he stood at that very same corner.

And while Thomas and Lightburn were shot, 16 year old Stephan Anderson was only shot at. He says that at 10:30 on Saturday night, he was walking on Ebony Street when a man known to him as “Gapo” approached and fired several shots in his direction. Anderson was unhurt. Police are investigating that shooting as well.
