Police are also investigating the disturbing report of the abduction and rape of a 13 year old girl. The girl, a high school student, says that between 7 and 7:30 on Monday night she was walking on Regent Street when a man in the passenger side of a black four door car pulled up and pointed a gun at her. She was forced into the car and taken to the Southern Foreshore area between Dean and South Streets where the gunman with a mask over his face raped her.
Sergeant Hilberto Romero, Deputy Commander of CIB says they are taking the complaint seriously but there are discrepancies in the story.
Sgt. Hilberto Romero,
“We are looking at it. Like I mentioned there are some discrepancies in the report. We are following up each item on that report so that we can determine if in fact that was the case that she was raped.”
