One of Banks’ associates, Rowland Austin was also in court today. He has been on the run for over a month, after police named him as a suspect in a shooting on Central American Boulevard. Banks was already charged for conspiracy to commit that murder.

But Rowland is being charged for actually pulling the trigger on 27 year old Richard Russell on the evening of August first. Russell was shot to the shoulder and leg, but survived. He is still suffering with those injuries and came to court today straight from the hospital, with a pronounced limp. So today, Rowland was charged for attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm upon Richard Russell. Those offences are not bailable and he was remanded.

And why was his victim, Russell in court? That’s because he’s charged with a robbery – the same one we told you about on Tuesday when Celso Leal from Orange Walk was robbed of $5,800 by two men he was buying a car from. Russell was allegedly one of those men. Long story short, Russell had pleaded not guilty to the charge of robbery and was also denied bail. He told the court he does not wish to press charges against Rowland.
