Three teenaged boys are accused of terrorizing the Ladyville area with a series of burglaries. Yesterday evening, they appeared in Family Court where they were accused of breaking into 5 houses in Lord’s Bank and Ladyville and police say more charges could follow. But because of their age, we cannot show you their pictures or give you their names.

Two of them, both 16 year olds, gave Belize City addresses while the other – supposedly the ringleader, said he is from Mango Creek. But he took police to his home in Ladyville where he had many stolen items stashed including a DVD player and a computer. But that’s only a very small fraction of what they collected in residential burglaries between August first and September 11th.

They broke into 5 homes and stole just under $15,000 in everything from baby earrings to video games, to knapsacks to computers and DVD players. But after some sharp investigative work, Ladyville police got them to confess and take them to their stash spot. And that’s why yesterday in court, the trio pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods, but Magistrate Natalia Carter rejected their plea. They are also charged with multiple counts of burglary. They were offered bail of $2,000. Their cases have been adjourned for November 3 and November 13, respectfully. But they may be back in court before that, because Ladyville police are confident that they can connect them to some other burglaries.
