But while police have arrested the three Customs officers they believe helped to release the unauthorized forty foot container they have yet to catch the man who drove it out of the Port compound. That driver has been identified as Howell Hutchinson, a resident of Cotton Tree Village whose whereabouts are unknown. Today the police senior command told the media why they have been unable to locate Howell Hutchinson.
Crispin Jeffries,
“Mr. Hutchinson is a free man out there wanted by the police. We have no control of where he is or how soon he can be captured. If we have any information as to where he is, we will be searching for him. The police have in fact visited Mr. Hutchinson’s home where a truck is also parked and we are trying to move that truck but without the right ignition key and access to that truck we don’t want to expend any funds to remove the truck. The truck has been identified and if we were to take that truck into custody, at a point in time, the truck will only be an exhibit, it cannot be taken into court, so the photographs will be used.”
