And if police didn’t already have their hands full with a missing container and urban terrorists, tonight, Belize City Police are on the lookout for a man they say have not only been targeting women but raping them as well. Four attacks have been reported dating back to August twenty third. The most recent was last night when there was an attempted rape. The MO is that the man, described as a serial rapist, circles on bicycle for women who are coming home from night spots. Police say he usually operates on weekends, in the Lake I, and Collet areas on streets where taxis are reluctant to drive all the way in to the home because they don’t want to be jacked. The women are then forced to walk and that’s where he preys on them. According to the reports so far, his victims are usually heavy set red skinned women. Today the police released a picture of the man, identified as one Leroy Gomez. Officer in Charge of CIB Julio Valdez told us more.

“Based on several reports received from incidents of rape occurring within the constraint of one area, the Antelope Street Extension, Jasmine, and off Flamboyant Streets; that area itself. And yes we believe that it is the
same person who is doing these rape and accosting these females out there late at night. We do believe it is one person doing these things. The police is looking for him at this point for questioning as we suspect he may be involved in these because the modus operandi is all the same.”
