A 37 year old man was killed on San Pedro today, he was reportedly stabbed to death. He is 37 year old Roberto Jimenez Marroquin and indeed, l9ke many other stabbing deaths, it was an act of jealousy. Jacqueline Godwin has more.

The information is that around 12:30 this afternoon the murder suspect identified Gregorio Alvaro went into the San Mateo area and into the home of his estranged common law wife. It is reported he waited for the victim Roberto Jimenez Marroquin. At this time it is unclear what happened inside the house but what we do know is by the time it was all over, Alvaro had fatally stabbed Marroquin two times.

“What I saw was I heard a commotion in the water. I saw Aura in the water, she was screaming, she was screaming he killed him, she killed him, and then after I saw Alvaro walking out of the house just calmly as if nothing had
happened and from what I hear around the corner is when he started running.”
San Pedro Police later retrieved the murder weapon from the nearby swamp. The victim’s body was also removed from the crime scene. Family friends say the relationship between Aura Molina Juarez and Gregorio Alvaro was abusive. The couple who had four children had been separated for three months.
Family Friend,
“The ex-husband was very abusive with her. He kept threatening her and they were not together. Now Roberto, he was not with Aura, they were not together at all. Maybe her ex-husband misunderstood the relationship and thought they had something but they never really had anything."
Elise Cordoba,
“We want justice of course because the same way he was threatening and saying he is going to kill her, he ended up killing this man and he will come back, we know he will come back. He has murdered one person, he is not going to stop, we need justice, we need help.”
The friends believe the victim was killed because of jealousy but they claim the victim was only a friend to the common-law wife.

“We don’t know if having kids is a crime, all we are trying to do is help his children. She was at home cooking because it was the lunch hour and Roberto was coming in to get his lunch and that’s when the ex-husband popped out of nowhere because he was waiting for him at the house. This afternoon for lunch he was waiting for him at the house and then just proceeded to stab him.”
Gregorio Alvaro remains at large.

Family and friends told us that for some now the common law wife had been reporting physical abuse to the police who they claim did not respond.
