Three men accused of murder walked out of the Supreme Court as free men this morning. 32 year old Tyrone Tillet, 22 year old Jermaine Villanueva, seen here in this footage, and his 24 year old brother Jaime Villanueva were charged for the August 24th 2007 murder of Mark Emmanuel Flowers. It occurred in front of Caesar’s Palace on Newtown Barracks.
The crown’s star witness was Earl Gentle who told police he witnessed the murder. He said he was hanging out with Mark Flowers the night of the murder when Flowers was accosted, assaulted, and then stabbed by Tyrone Tillett and the Villanueva brothers.
But in court this morning, Gentle said he didn’t see the altercation and more than that, he said this was his first time seeing the three accused men. That was the end of questioning for him and the trial and prosecutor Grant Schorn closed his case. Justice Adolph Lucas directed the jury to acquit three accused and they were set free. This was Crown Counsel Grant Schorn’s first criminal case.
