But beyond that the still burning questions are: what other charges will follow later on, and whom will be accused? Today the press asked the DPP for a look ahead.

“In relation to this particular issue no but in relation to the entire UHS matter yes, other charges will be laid.”

“No at this time I cannot confirm or deny if any other members of the Cabinet will be charged. And in relation to Mr. Fonseca, the charge is similar.”

Will there be any charges for Francis Fonseca or Amalai Mai?

“In relation to Francis Fonseca at this time I cannot say any charges are going to be laid against him. In relation to Amalai Mai, I don’t think that anything done by her is actually actionable criminally.”

The Belize Bank assisted or the Belize Bank was involved in supposedly the diversion. Would they be charged for handling stolen goods? How does it proceed?
Cheryl-Lynn Branker-Taitt,
“No we’re not contemplating charges against the Belize Bank of that nature or any other nature for that matter.”

But the Belize Bank received the proceeds of the theft, presumably if there was a theft.
Cheryl-Lynn Branker-Taitt,
“We’re not considering that at this time.”
So that’s a definite maybe on possible charges for former A-G Francis Fonseca and a definite “no” on charges for Amalia Mai, the former CEO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. But we are told that other related charges may follow against Mr. Musa.
