In May, businessman Burt Haylock was charged with aggravated assault for pulling a gun on taxi-man Cecil Gill and today he was vindicated. That is because Magistrate Sharon Frazer threw out the aggravated assault charge against Haylock because she didn’t believe Gill’s story.

As we had reported, Haylock allegedly pulled the gun on gill after a road rage incident early on the morning of May 1st. Haylock accused gill of tailgating him. One thing led to another and Gill says it ended near his home on Logwood Street when he claims Haylock pulled and pointed a point 38 revolver at him. But today Magistrate Frazer said she disbelieved Gill’s story because he didn’t show any fear after the incident. In fact instead of going to the police station to make a report, he went home and then to the gas station.

With that the case was dismissed but tonight Burt Haylock, who also goes by the name Burt Vasquez, isn’t completely free. He signed a $1,000 bond to hold over the peace for a year. That means he can’t get into trouble with the law- and if he does, he’ll have to pay the court $1,000 or spend six months in jail.
