The police station in Hattieville almost burnt down last night, due to careless disposal of a cigarette butt. Investigations reveal that whoever was the last person to use the bathroom apparently also used the time to have a smoke but upon leaving the restroom, the person instead of extinguishing the butt of the cigarette, tossed it into the trash bin that was also filled with tissue.
We are not sure what time the person departed from the bathroom but around seven ten last night smoke was seen coming out of the bathroom area. The police went to investigate and that is when they saw that a portion of the bathroom wall was already on fire.
The police jumped into action and extinguished the flames before it got out of control. It is not certain if any disciplinary measure will be brought against the person responsible – but according to the Cigarette Investigation Branch, Constable Camel, Sergeant Smoky and Corporal Colonial are suspects.
