The man you are looking at is seventy year old Emmanuel Gabourel. He is a retired carpenter of number 8403 Jones Street in the Lake Independence area and what this senior resident has been charged with is beyond comprehension. You see Emmanuel Gabourel nickname “Daddie” was caught fondling a four year old child on Friday night. It is not certain how the young victim happen to be in the old man’s house but today when the accused appeared before Magistrate Sharon Frazer it is reported that after the child entered the residence, Emmanuel Gabourel put his victim to lie in his bed and started to fondle her that is when the child’s father entered the room and caught the elderly man with his four year old.
In court today, the prosecutor objected to bail on several grounds including the prevalence of the crime, fear that the accused may interfere with the victim and for the accused’s own protection because the child’s parents are very upset. Seventy year old Emmanuel Gabourel who has been charged with aggravated assault of an indecent nature upon a four year old was remanded to Hattieville Prison. He is scheduled to reappear in Belize City Magistrate’s Court on July ninth.
