Last week you saw Janelle Chanona cut off quite a few inches of her hair to donate to the very worthy cause of cancer, well in an update to that feature, tonight we are pleased to report that several viewers were moved to action. Between Wednesday and Thursday, eight women showed up at the Belize Cancer Society on Mercy Lane with several inches of their hair...in their hands.

The hair donations have been collected and will be forwarded to a cancer support group in Wisconsin where they will be used to make human hair wigs. The wigs are then distributed free of cost to cancer patients who have suffered hair loss. It takes six pony-tails of hair no less than eight inches long to make one wig.

On behalf of special correspondent Janelle Chanona, we sincerely thank those women, who have asked for anonymity, for their contributions which will hopefully make at least one cancer patient’s battle a little less stressful. For more information on other ways you can support the Belize Cancer Society, please contact them at 223-0922.
