Tonight a family in La Democracia is in mourning tonight after their son and brother was knocked down and killed between miles twenty eight and twenty nine on the Western Highway. The story is disturbing because of not only because of the way twenty two year old Keon Estrada died, but the additional fact that whoever killed him has still not been found. When police arrived on the scene they observed that the upper part of the victim’s body was lying on the highway and that his face was completely crushed. The Estrada family does not believe reports that their loved one was lying on the road when he was run over. Police say based on what has been observed at the scene, they believe that Keon Estrada is the victim of a hit and run but his family are not sure what happened around five fifteen on Saturday morning.

“They were coming from a party from Mahogany Heights probably around 2 to 2:30, I am not sure what is the time, and they were heading towards Hattieville, going to Hattieville, they were heading to Hattieville and during that time the vehicle broke down between miles 28 and 29 and sister, she told us that both of them were heading back home because it was close to home and they wanted to walk home. They got out and started to walk. Unfortunately my brother stayed behind, he didn’t want to walk back because it was a long distance.
Police are just telling us it is a hit and run and they are trying to investigate more in-depth into the information and what happened. That is all the information we have right now.
According to information it is like he was lying on the road sleeping and I don’t think my brother is going to sleep on a road when he knows that vehicles pass there. I don’t think so.”

“According to information and the pictures and so forth, the way his body was positioned, it was like he was resting but I am not sure about all the information as yet because there are still checking and investigating and checking to see how much liquor he had so we are not sure.
It is very hurting because we don’t know exactly what happened to him. We don’t know what kind of trouble he was in or what and that is very hurting because we don’t know who it is or how was his death. That is the most hurting thing right now for us. If it was intentional just please give up yourself because his family is in pain right now. It wasn’t a good scene for us to see and his entire head was mashed. His brain was all over the road and that is a very terrible scene.”
