Today Cayo Police arrested and charged three young men after they say the trio killed sixteen year old Selvin Carlos Garcia. The murder reportedly took place around two on Sunday morning in the savannah area of San Ignacio.
The report is that Selvin Carlos Garcia was along with another friend when the pair were attacked by a group. As a result, the sixteen year old received stab wounds to his abdomen and chest. He was rushed to the San Ignacio Hospital but Selvin Carlos Garcia died one hour later.
Today Alfonso Diaz, Edwin Duran and Richard Neal were taken over to the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court and charged with murder. But Alfonso Diaz’s family is claiming their son is innocent because he was not in the area at the time the stabbing took place. In fact they claim that he was in the company of his girlfriend. The family further states the Cayo Police have also denied to take any statements from the young woman who they say can prove that their brother Alfonso Diaz is innocent.
Alfonso Diaz, Edwin Duran and Richard Neal have all been remanded to the Hattieville Prison.
