The man accused of beating his 2 year old stepson to death remains in police custody tonight. He was charged this evening and it is expected that 25 year old Elijah Miller will be formally arraigned tomorrow morning for the death of 2 year old Ezekiel Yejeda. He has been locked down since Friday night which is when the child was rushed to the emergency room and died on the operating table.
That was the child’s second trip to the emergency room after miller allegedly brutalized him during the day. The child had been left with Miller and two other siblings. It is alleged by the child’s mother that he threw Ezekiel in the air, stoned him with a pint bottle, and shook him. When the mother returned home she sensed something was wrong and took him to the hospital. The doctor said everything was okay but s\Shortly after the baby was rushed to the hospital again and that’s when he died during surgery.
A post mortem certified that he died from complications of abdominal trauma after he received multiple bruises to his abdomen, bowel, and intestines.
