He returned from a summit on New York on Saturday and today Prime Minister Dean Barrow left for Georgetown, Guyana, to participate in the 30th regular meeting of the conference of Heads of Government of the CARICOM, scheduled for July 2nd to the 5th.
In addition to participating in discussions on topics that include climate change, economic development, and tourism, the PM will also turn over the CARICOM Chairmanship to Guyana’s president, H.E. Bharrat Jagdeo. The chair is rotated to different heads of government every six months and Barrow was fortunate to have held it when the Summit of the Americas was held in Trinidad as it gave him the chance to address a global audience on behalf of the Caribbean.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by his financial advisor, Alan Slusher, along with his Chief Executive Officer, Audrey Wallace. Hon. Carlos Perdomo will be acting as Prime Minister until Deputy Prime Minister, Gasper Vega’s return on Thursday. PM Barrow returns next week Monday.
