Two men were shot on just before midnight on Friday in Belize City by a gas station security guard who thought they were going to hurt him. It happened at Esso Ramos’s Service Station at mile two on the Northern Highway when guard Ignacio Reyes reported to Police that two Hispanic men pulled up in a car and demanded gas. They were refused and they approached Reyes. He says he feared his life was in danger and he took out his licensed 9mm pistol and fired two shots hitting both men.

The men were later identified as Thomas Garcia, who received gunshot to the left side of the rib cage and Jose Gonzalez who received gunshot wounds his buttocks and abdomen. Both were transported to the K.H.M.H and were listed in critical condition.
