A 7 year old child was mauled to death by two rottweiler dogs on Saturday afternoon in Cayo. The child, 7 year old Dualdin Alveno, along with his 9 year old brother had jumped a fence and entered a neighbour’s yard in the Hillview area of San Ignacio to pick coconuts. They hopped the fence and were already in the yard when they were rushed and attacked by two rottweiler dogs. While the 9 year old was able to scamper away and avoid injury –the 7 year old wasn’t.
He was bitten numerous times in his legs, hands, and back. It is reported that he died on the spot. A post conducted this afternoon certified his cause of death as vascular plexus injury to the neck due to dog bites. The case file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions to determine if anyone will be charged.
