18 year old Michael Malic was today charged with robbery and wounding for breaking the leg of a 54 year old man during a robbery. His victim is Rafael Rosa who reported to police that between ten and eleven on Friday night he was walking on Orange Walk Street when Malic allegedly dragged him into Taylor’s Alley. Rosa alleges that he was beaten and his leg broken after which Malic ran off with $150.
Today in Magistrate’s Court Malic pleaded not guilty and professed his innocence. The prosecution objected to because of the prevalence of the crime but Malic told Magistrate Tracey Sosa that he works with his father at the tourism village and he has plans to return to school.
He was offered bail of $4,000 but up to this evening he was unable to make bail and was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until September 22nd.
