Two other men connected to a car theft – weren’t charged for stealing the vehicle today – they were charged for handling the computer that was inside when the pickup truck was stolen. Police haven’t found the pickup belonging to Nestor Alfaro. But they have found Alfaro’s laptop – and they found it at 33 year old Karl Hemsley’s home at the corner of Mahogany and Mopan Streets.
They went there yesterday and found him repairing the computer while his brother 40 year old Paul Hemsley looked on. Both pleaded not guilty to handling stolen goods today in court and were offered bail of five thousand dollars. Only Karl met bail while Paul was remanded to prison.
Earlier, this week Paul and two others Enfield Gillett and Egbert Ferguson were charged with handling stolen goods for two stolen vehicles that police found in Caledonia. Police say they believe that Paul is a key player in a stolen vehicle ring that has strong links to Caledonia Village.
