And while armed robberies are commonplace in the city, we can’t say the same for Belmopan. And that’s why the report of an armed office invasion in the commercial center of the capital has raised eyebrows and provoked some question marks.
The two employees report to police that at 8:05 this morning, they had just opened the office when two men barged in, one of them armed with a gun. They escorted them into the bathroom, tied them up and told them to stay there. After that the men reportedly stole the cash pan which according to police was reported to have a significant but undetermined amount of money.
Belmopan police have not made any arrests, but did briefly detain two persons – but the victims seem to have had some confusion about the identities of the robbers.
