Charles and Hirian Good - since August 19th the couple has been standing with placards around their necks in front of the Supreme Court. They are still protesting Hirian’s termination as a school warden at Trinity Methodist School. They’ve been at it for three weeks but the news tonight is that the couple may up the ante. Charles Good told us this afternoon, they are waiting on the law to take its course but if it doesn’t, he is prepared to go on a hunger strike.

Charles Good, Still Protesting
“At this point we will continue our protest and perhaps I may even raise it to a different level, who knows, it depends on the situation. These guys they sent them to curse me out, what are we doing, we are not bothering no one except to seek justice, not only for ourselves. It is not glory or fame but seeking justice not only for ourselves but for all those other people who are going through this and I can tell you Keith it is a lot of suffering and it is a chain reaction. Nobody knows what my wife and I are feeling and our family.”

Keith Swift,
“What will you do next?”

Charles Good,
“The next level is hunger strike; my choice.”

Hirian Good,
“I ask God for his strength, we will need that, and those guys that passed are hollering we are turning this into politics, from when Mr. Faber fired me, he turned that into politics because he told me plain and straight it is politics. So we are not turning it into politics, all we are fighting for is our rights.”

Charles Good,
“The first process will take some thirty days. After that depending on the outcome then the matter will end over here, this building behind me, and that will take some time too. But between those timings I need to keep this matter on the front burner and what it takes, I will keep it on the front burner until it is time.

Keith, we will be here tomorrow, we will spend the tenth right here. We will spend the 21st maybe right here too but it all depends on situations.”

Charlie Good famously went on a hunger strike in front of the Social Security Board in May of 2007 to protest the amount of his pension. The Social Security Board ultimately gave in.
