In another disturbing report of violence against women, a woman was robbed and raped on Wednesday night. What’s frightening is that it didn’t occur late in the night – it happened between 7:30 and 8 pm. The woman says she was walking on Chancellor Street when a man on a bike approached her with a gun.
She says he demanded and she turned over her jewellery and cell phone. But that wasn’t enough. She says her attacker then raped her and escaped. She describes her attacker as dark skinned with dreads and a bushy beard. At the time he was wearing khaki coloured short pants and a white t-shirt. Police have detained a suspect.
